What Makes Atlas Medical Centers’ Spinal Decompression Program Different?

We always combine Cold Laser Therapy along with Spinal Decompression Therapy. Both therapies can provide a synergistic effect to speed up the healing process.

In addition, our Medical providers, if needed will recommend using Growth Factor Serums with Cold Laser-Spinal Decompression Therapy. This trifecta of therapies (Cold laser, Spinal Decompression, and Growth Factor Therapy) has the potential to provide relief from pain caused by more severe disc conditions.

It is thought that the process of using Spinal Decompression forces (negative pressure) relieves pain by:

    • Enlarging the disc space (which gives fluid, oxygen, and nutrition)
    • Re-hydrating the disc (discs are mostly 88% water)
    • Reducing bulging, protruding, or herniated discs
    • Decreasing intra-discal pressure by the application of negative pressure

    Real Patient Reviews

I visited Atlas medical center in Irving to get injections on my neck and lower back, because of herniated disc in my neck and lower back. Prior to this visit, my surgeon had recommended that I should be operated on to get well. I’m 72 yrs old and this was a quick fix, no rehabs, no lengthy recovery time. I actually drove my car after this treatment. So far I have zero pain and my lifestyle is back to normal.
Extremely pleased with the service and the staff, and I would recommend to anybody to consult this treatment before surgery.

Leslie and Jenny are great. Dr. Hammond, after setting up my treatment, continued to look in on me during treatments, making sure I was getting better. Staff was great to work with me on scheduling my treatment. I recommend Atlas with back treatments. I am 95% better, and feeling normal again. I look forward to maintenance treatments now, to keep me normal.

    How Does Spinal Decompression Work?

During the minimally invasive treatment, patients lie on a decompression table while their upper and lower body is secured. A traction machine then applies therapeutic decompression maneuvers to relieve spinal compression and align the spine.

This gentle release of pressure allows nutrient-rich fluid to penetrate the spinal discs and promote healing. Over the course of treatment sessions, patients experience a reduction in back and neck pain, and their spine feels healthier and more flexible.

The advanced computerized spinal decompression system used at Atlas Medical Center precisely relieves pressure on the painful discs and nerves. The negative pressure created during treatment draws herniated material back into the disc and reduces pressure on the nerves.

Compared to cortisone injections, epidurals, and medications, spinal decompression therapy tends to yield more sustainable results. A study published in Anesthesiology News in 2003 followed patients who had undergone the therapy for four years and found that 91% of them remained pain-free.
